Consul
Max Dorsch- Entering the final semester of my term as Consul, there is still a lot I wish to see accomplished. We will continue to strive to position ourselves as the most preemptive leadership development organization on campus.
Moving into the new house at 737 Comstock has been a blessing. We now have the high responsibility of maintaining this gift and proving to all the countless alumni who worked so hard to get us here that we can be entrusted to continue their legacy.
ProConsul
John Magner- After a long and amazing journey the Psi Psi chapter is back at 737 Comstock
Avenue and here to stay. The renovations look amazing and I speak on behalf of the house
when I say we are honored to be living here. As Pro-Consul this semester I have set up
some personal goals for myself, which include improving our Post Initiation Training
program and also trying to find a reliable replacement for me who can easily pick up
where I leave off. I thank all of you for your support and if you have any questions please feel
free to contact me at jrmagner@syr.edu.
Quaestor
Jason Schifrien- As the Quaestor I am responsible for the collection and safeguarding of the chapter funds. Before the start of each semester I prepare a budget for the chapter. This budget needs to be approved by the executive board and then presented at chapter. One of my duties is making sure that all brothers can pay dues, and if they can’t I must put them on a payment plan. It is essential to make sure that all brothers stay on track with their payments.
Magister
Rob Hirst-Hermans - I am honored to be the magister of the first pledge class to undergo their entire pledgeship under the Psi Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi. I look forward to guiding them towards ennobling their lives with the values of Sigma Chi, as well as encouraging them to cultivate their leadership skills. Magister sessions will be more than just reading from the Jordan Standard. I have prepared both literary and mental exercises that I believe will add extra meaning to their pledge process. I hope to instill in the incoming class the true meaning of brotherhood, and I am excited to form a unique bond with them as both a mentor and a friend.
Risk Manager
Matt Reynolds- As students of a university with a very active social scene, we will no doubt encounter some form of risk in our everyday lives. We encourage everyone to enjoy themselves, but the safety of every Brother and any other individual participating in a Sigma Chi function is always the primary concern.
It is my job to ensure that the members of the Psi Psi chapter of Sigma Chi operate in accordance with the risk management and social policies of both Sigma Chi and Syracuse University. Risks are ever present, and are often unpredictable, but as Risk Manager, it is my responsibility to make sure that the members of the fraternity behave in a safe manner, and actively work to minimize risk whenever possible.
Recruitment Chair
Chad Furey- The members of Sigma Chi Chi realize that recruitment is one of the most important elements required for the future success of Sigma Chi at Syracuse University. Recruitment has been a collective effort among all our members. This effort has been rewarded with exceptional recruitment in recent semesters. Sigma Chi Chi is rapidly becoming one of the most recognizable fraternities on campus. This is because the members of Sigma Chi Chi are all leaders that fit the standards set by Isaac M. Jordan, and leaders will undoubtedly attract other men of good character that are seeking the lifelong commitment Sigma Chi offers. Needless to say, recruitment for Sigma Chi has a very bright future at Syracuse University.
House Manager
Derek Ziemer
Chapter Historian
David Vogel
Philanthropy Chair
James Scangas- One of the most significant and valued principles of the Sigma Chi fraternity is that of brotherhood. This applies not only to our own members, but to our brothers and sisters in
the world, and in our own community. By participating in philanthropic and community
service events, we seek to improve the lives of others; however, in the process, we
greatly improve our own. After moving back into 737 Comstock Ave., we plan on hosting
many events at the house, and are greatly looking forward to the new opportunities
provided to us.
Scholarship Chair
Jason Shemtob
Chapter Editor
Cory Cooke- As Chapter Editor I am in charge of creating two outstanding chapter newsletters. With an exciting and busy Spring semester for both the alumni and undergrads, there will be lots to write about. I will also be submitting articles highlighting our installation process and quarterly new reports to The magazine of Sigma Chi. I am excited to make the most of the opportunity to share news of our prospering chapter with others, especially since this position was previously left unfilled.
Tribune
Andrew Reich- As Tribune, I am responsible for chapter correspondence and official reports to General Headquarters. I will do my best to keep our brotherhood informed during this vital transition period, and ensure that alumni, advisors, and friends of our Fraternity are aware of important developments during this exciting time. This is a pivotal time for Sigma Chi at Syracuse, and communication amongst our brotherhood is essential for a smooth installation period.
Alumni Chair
Pat Lundberg- As the Alumni Chairman, it is my duty to maintain and build alumni contacts using the chapter's resources. Providing significant information and updating alumni on the chapter's latest news needs to be done with appropriate frequency. It is also the duty of the Alumni Chair to coordinate and manage any alumni events with the undergraduate chapter.
